Journal entry 34--Kindness to others

Describe a time when your choice affected someone in a positive way. What was the outcome? How was this person affected?

When I was in third grade I met a girl on the playground. I was swinging on the rings and she wanted a turn so she counted to ten. Of course I didn't want to get off the swings so I asked her to give me a little longer and I would be her best friend. She did and it turned out later that we in fact became best friends. Several years later she told me that other children made fun of her because her skin color was brown. She said I was the only child who wanted to be her friend. This person ended up being a close friend whom I couldn't imagine a childhood without.
